Disclaimer

Patwari Blog publishes news and guides about property in Pakistan to help readers understand the market and the process of buying, selling and renting. Please read this disclaimer before relying on anything you find here.

General information, not advice

The content on Patwari Blog is general information only. It is not legal, tax, financial or investment advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Reading the site does not create a lawyer-client, adviser-client or any other professional relationship.

Property transactions in Pakistan involve significant sums of money and rules that vary by province, city, authority and society. Before you buy, sell, rent, transfer or invest, speak to a qualified lawyer, tax adviser or other professional as appropriate.

Verify with the relevant authority

Rules, fees, tax rates, approval statuses and procedures change, sometimes with little notice. The authority that issues a rule or keeps a record is always the final word. Depending on the matter, that may be:

  • the development authority or society administration responsible for the area, for plot approvals, maps, transfers and dues
  • the provincial board of revenue or land record office, for ownership records, mutations and provincial duties
  • the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), for federal taxes on property and the rules that apply to filers and non-filers

Always confirm the current position with them directly before you pay money or sign documents.

Prices are indicative

Where our articles mention prices, rents or rates, they are indicative only. Each price is accompanied by an "as of" date and its source. Prices from listing portals are asking prices, not completed sale prices, and actual prices vary with location, plot size, facing, development status, documentation and negotiation. A price that was accurate on its "as of" date may not be accurate today.

No recommendations or guarantees

We do not recommend, endorse or promote any housing society, developer, project, agent or investment. Mentioning a society or project in an article does not mean it is approved, legal, safe or a good investment. Past price trends are not a guide to future returns, and we make no promises about the value of any property.

Accuracy and corrections

We base our articles on published sources, which are listed on each article page, and we work to keep them current. However, we cannot guarantee that every article is complete, error-free or up to date at the time you read it. If you spot an error, please email [email protected] with the article link and the correct information, ideally with an official source. We review every correction request and update articles when we confirm a mistake.

Our articles link to government websites, development authorities, news organisations and other third-party sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.
