About Patwari Blog
Patwari Blog is an English-language website about property in Pakistan. We publish real estate news, buying and renting guides, explainers on taxes and paperwork, and city-by-city coverage of plots, flats, houses and rentals. Our readers are first-time buyers, families looking to rent, overseas Pakistanis managing property from abroad, and anyone who wants to understand the market before they sign anything.
Why the name
In Pakistan, the patwari is the village and town official who keeps the land revenue records: the jamabandi, the khasra maps, the fard and the record of each intiqal (transfer of ownership). For generations, anyone buying or inheriting land has had to start with those records. Our name borrows that idea. We want this site to be a record you can trust: clear, checked and honest about what it does and does not know.
What we cover
- News: policy changes, development authority announcements, tax updates and market developments that affect property owners and buyers.
- Guides: step-by-step explainers on buying, selling, renting, transferring and verifying property.
- City coverage: dedicated pages for each major city we cover, so you can find guides relevant to where you live or plan to buy.
- Property tech: the tools, portals and digital land record systems that are changing how property is searched for and registered in Pakistan.
How we work
Every article is written by the Patwari Editorial Team. We do not publish anonymous tips, paid placements or sponsored listings, and we do not sell property or act as agents for anyone.
Our editorial standards are simple:
- Facts come from sources. Prices, fees, tax rates, policy details and project statuses are taken from published sources such as government departments, development authorities, the Federal Board of Revenue, provincial boards of revenue and established news organisations. The sources for each article are listed on the article page.
- Prices are indicative. Property prices change quickly and vary from street to street. Where we mention prices, we say where they come from and give an "as of" date, and listing-portal figures are labelled as asking prices, not sale prices.
- No hype. We do not promise returns, recommend specific investments or promote particular housing schemes.
- Corrections are welcome. If you spot an error or something that has gone out of date, tell us and we will check it and update the article.
